Welcome, Enployable!

Language Scholars is proud that Laura Truncellito’s new venture, Enployable, is among the six newest alumni from the Founder Institute Washington DC virtual 2020 program!

From the Founder Institute’s News Release:
Over 160 people applied to the program, and after an intense four months of aggressive business-building sprints and constant evaluation and feedback from investors and mentors, just six companies were able to make it through.

Each of these Founders have demonstrated a high level of perseverance and creativity, and their businesses have been thoroughly vetted and supported by a panel of DC’s top startup experts and investors.

Founder Institute Fellowship

Language Scholars is proud to announce that our founder, Laura Truncellito, was accepted into the Founder Institute, and was awarded one of two Female Founder Fellowships from the WomenTech Network and the Silicon Valley Founder Institute’s Female Founder Initiative to support her participation in the Institute. Laura is in the process of developing an AI solution for language training and assessment, and we can’t wait to see what she creates!

Happy Birthday, America!

We hope you’re finding a safe and enjoyable way to celebrate this most unusual 4th of July with your loved ones. As we celebrate our nation’s independence, we’re reflecting upon the fact that the United States was founded on justice and equality for all, and is a diverse nation which opens its doors to individuals of all backgrounds who seek the opportunity for a better life. As Alexander Hamilton noted: “the first duty of society is justice.”

Language Scholars is dedicated to meaningful communication, which we believe cannot be achieved without a firm commitment to justice and equality for all. We are committed to providing education, creating resources, and working with our clients and partners to create a better tomorrow.

One Race, Human Race

As an organization that values diversity and seeks to bring the world together, we are deeply saddened by the tragic death of George Floyd. We mourn his loss, and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones, as well as all of our colleagues and partners who are grieving. This is a painful reminder of how far we still need to go as a nation. We should all have the right to live and not to be afraid of our own skin color.

Language Scholars is founded on meaningful communication, which is needed now more than ever. We want you to know we are firmly opposed to racism and violence. We stand with those who are seeking justice, and join in the call for individuals of all backgrounds to be able to live in harmony together. This is a test of our values and humanity. It falls on all of us to work together and to do the right things, not only for ourselves but for future generations.
